“The great creators-the thinkers, the artists, the scientists, the inventors-stood alone against the men of their time.”
– Ayn Rand, writer
Who stood more alone against the men of his time than did Christ himself? Rand, as an atheist, would have cringed at my invocation…in 1957. But if time has a funny way of changing the way we see the world, imagine the other side of mortality!
Interestingly, because of Rand’s inability to accept the “holy spirit”, she had man resurrect himself…right? When man realized he had exorcised the better part of himself, he brought himself back in her book Atlas Shrugged! Of course Rand’s resurrection of man was from a metaphorical death, in league with himself following a physical realization; whereas Christ was resurrected from a most real and painful death, in league with “Spirit” following the deepest self-realization.
Both stories shine a light that has a devastating effect on the collectivists’ agenda, many of whom are atheists themselves. They have learned how to marginalize people of faith, but find themselves a little more off-balance in the face of someone who looks more like themselves…another intellectual atheist. Only this one has actually suffered the consequence of their song & dance.
It is hard to find fault with Rand’s near perfect predictions where the evolution of society and Man’s character are concerned. It is, for me anyway, a little more difficult to imagine us extricating ourselves from this colossal “ashbin” as Porter Stansberry refers to it. How does the character that allowed this to happen, become the character to reverse it? One hears the term waking up an awful lot around this discussion to be sure.
What the physical world is experiencing at this moment is the Coming Insurrection that has finally arrived! And it is no less than a perfect storm that too many people have yet to take seriously. I will never forget a very surreal experience I had as a District Manager in my financial sales organization back in the late nineties. We were having our annual sales meeting, and all the managers were required to get up and speak about their district business plan and recruiting/development goals. When it was my turn to speak, I quoted a line from a Springsteen song, “There’s gonna be a twister that blows everything down, that ain’t got the strength to stand its ground.” It came out of nowhere…left a lot of quizzical looks on most faces, including my own…but sometimes we just feel what we feel, and we can trust it or not.
The Resurrection is our only way out of the Storm of Insurrection! Why? Because this storm is not categorical! There is no physical high ground. To think so, is simply a re-arrangement of deck chairs…on a very famous ship. Those still in denial or looking to the horizon for their lifeline will be lost. And this understanding is the ultimate duality, because it is both the source of the storm and the calm! The opposing forces are these; the very darkness that pulls your eyes to the horizon, and the very light that whispers to you from within. The Resurrection is our greatest gift and opportunity for awakening and rebirth…
We can all feel the “horizon energy” building…buy gold, store food. But this is our vortex…this is the very moment we must first be aware of, and then begin to nurture the tiny green tendril inside each of us. To do so requires an extremely counterintuitive letting go! I say extremely, because we have programmed ourselves to tighten our grip in proportion to our level of fear.
The most helpful lesson I have EVER learned is the power of holding opposites. In essence we prepare by holding “horizon energy” and “letting go” at once. It is like any other new experience you have ever attempted. Awkward at first, maybe even difficult…but in a timeframe relative to your effort, it will bring a centering calm and a balance that will sustain you. Your mind is your greatest tool. Use the miracle of the Resurrection to reconnect, and nourish that which they so desperately want you to look away from.
