The Sunday Morning Tune-up, December 18th Edition!

Good Morning dear friend! We’ve covered quite a bit of ground over the past 22 Sunday Morning get-together’s! I find myself in an interesting quandary this morning at the doorstep of #23. That’s because part of me wants to let it all go and get back to whether or not the Jets or Giants make it into the playoffs…and Christmas/Chanukah shopping, etc., and part of me wants to hold on tighter than I’ve ever held on to anything before!

I have learned over the years to pay much closer attention at these quandary crossroads, because it is usually God tapping us on the shoulder…a very special opportunity.

And actually…this place is exactly what we talked about in the 4th Edition on August 7th about the importance of holding our compassion and warrior energies equally! So lets’ go with it, shall we?

Abuse comes in many forms. Child abuse and spousal abuse are perhaps the two most common examples. We don’t hear as much about animal and government abuse, but we certainly know they exist. The interesting thing is that they all possess the exact same paradigm. The abuser takes and controls power and the abused surrenders the power and submits to the will of the abuser. And here is where the August 7th Tune-up comes in handy. It is impossible for any man, woman, child or horse to be abused if they possess a healthy ownership of their Gevuric (warrior) energy! (Try putting a saddle on a wild Mustang!) Only those of us who have disowned this legitimate and essential quality of our being are vulnerable to abuse…by man or government. On the other hand, to hold only Gevuric energy sets us up for other dangers…not the least of which would be to become the abuser! And this brings us to the point of balance. Opposite Gevurah on the Kabbalist Tree of Life is Chesed (Compassion). The essential idea to grasp is that it is not about one or the other, it is about holding them equally…holding opposites, the most powerful lesson I’ve ever learned!

                                                 Letting Go (Chesed)

In music, it is the space between the notes. In karate, it is relaxing and centering…getting out of your shoulders (where the tension resides). In life, it is escaping the incessant chatter to lose yourself in the gentle quiet of a mountain stream. Our true power comes from inside, and when we are constantly on the go and engaged in deadlines and the outside tugs of life, we lose the inside.

Here is where we must consciously make the determination to reconnect to our Chesed (compassion). Mediation is one of the most powerful ways I know to do this. As we’ve discussed, 15-20 minutes in the morning is all it takes to quite the mind and come back to the stream. But doing for others is also extremely beneficial…for everyone! You can actually feel the regeneration of life force inside you when you’ve made someone else’s day! And finally, the simple thought is amazingly powerful. Learn to strengthen and cleave to your Chesed by thinking selflessly and compassionately.

                                                Hanging On (Gevurah)

This is where we need the most work. I’m afraid that on the whole, as a society, this is the quality…the crucial energy we’ve disowned! In Saturday’s Blog, I said that we’ve allowed ourselves to become the Veal of the State…and this is exactly why! We have surrendered our power to become the abused!

But what is wonderful about this is that we have no one to blame but ourselves. Realizing this is the very first step to taking our power back! Why is that? Because no one can make you a victim unless you allow it! And here’s the beauty of it…IT ALL HAPPENS INSIDE. Just as in the example above where we cleave to Chesed through compassionate thought, here we cleave to our inner Warrior in the very same way only through might, strength and steel hard resolve. We become it, we own it…inside! We’ve all seen the look in the abusers eye when he/she sees it for the first time in the eyes of the abused…because the eyes are the windows of the soul! The abused now has the power…and the abuser knows it…with nary a blow!

We, you and I, have been abused for far too long…as American citizens. And we now know how and why! Indoctrinated by the government/media network through our schools and TV’s…softened and rendered spiritually compliant by the Church of the State. Now when they seek to provoke us outside is exactly when we must resolve to defeat them inside!

“The refusal to live up to one’s responsibility to see justice done is a failure in charity to one’s community, nation or society. Refusing to enforce justice actually causes the LOSS OF PEACE and tranquil order, and thus pacifism, like all lies, actually yields exactly the opposite of what it promises. Pacifism doesn’t yield peace, it yields WAR, DISORDER, TUMULT and SUFFERING. This is the meaning of Amos 5:15

Hate evil, and love good, and establish judgment in the gate: it may be the Lord the God of hosts may have mercy on the remnant of Joseph. -Amos 5:15

The phrase “judgment in the gate” means justice in the courts and seats of authority. In other words, do your duty in charity to God and your fellow-men, both the innocent and the guilty, by enforcing just laws and waging wars of self-defense and defense of allies when necessary.”– Ann Barnhardt
