When I was a kid, there were many “cool” moments. A very subjective term; “cool” to me meant against the grain, different in a rebellious sense…like longer hair, “She Loves You, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah!”

I remember walking into a restaurant in Wyckoff, NJ one morning to see this group of guys talking. One of them had a pierced ear…a small gold ring in one ear. I distinctly remember feeling the “cool” jolt hit me (this was the late sixties mind you)! Today the male ear-ring, like the female booty stamp are a sign of one thing and one thing only…your official status as a full-fledged card-carrying member of The Herd!*

If you and I could don Harry Potter’s cloak of invisibility and shadow our kids for a week and then switch kids, my guess is that we’d be disturbingly shocked to find that we’re raising the very same kids! Even “cool” has been transformed into this synthetically engineered formula that They seem to have mixed into our feed. And everyone wears the same flavor…there’s no against the grain rebelliousness to it…there are no individual thinkers! We have become one big Bobble Head Doll flying the very same colors. What we watch, who we listen to, what we’re in to! Step out o’ line and they’ll come…and take you away! Weird huh?

The interesting thing about herds is that they are very easily controlled. Individuals? Not so much. But an entire herd is very easily managed and controlled by one little Border Collie half their size…and They know it! Anyway, I think most of you are probably with me on the herd part, and maybe this will help for those who aren’t. A very common sign of herd behavior is found in our language of expression. The next time you happen to be listening to a radio interview where the interviewer is interviewing someone with a degree in their 20’s to mid 30’s, listen to their response to the next question. They will begin their sentence with “So”, I promise you.

There, that was easy! How much of our view of the pasture comes through his lens, hmm? The where is a little trickier, so a little sequential thought process…in reverse might be helpful. Where are feed cattle ultimately led? Why, to slaughter of course. What would prevent that from happening? Why, the Cattle’s freedom of course. What do They need in order to prevent the Cattle’s freedom? Why, a fenced-in corral of course. What would prevent Them from fencing in the cattle? Why, a Cattle Constitution of course! OOPS…

The difference between us and cattle is they really are cattle. We, on the other hand, have only been led to behave like cattle. We actually do have a Constitution…which only holds value to the exact extent of our appreciation of it! So the last step and logical conclusion of our sequential thought process is what? Why, They must destroy our Constitution…of course!

So our media (One Giant Network of Socialists who interview each other) draws a laser bullseye on any and all individuals who stand up in defense of personal responsibility, faith, limited government, family values and free markets. And almost instantly you can hear the chorus of Bovine Bobbleheads Mooing, “Bachmann, what a jerk!”, “Sarah Palin President? I would move to Canada!” Whew…kind of makes you think twice about sticking your head up, huh? Wanna have some fun? Things were a little slow today? Let’s rile the herd into a little stampede frenzy shall we? T-E-A   P-A-R-T-Y!! hehehe
