High Noon in the Garden of Gethsemane!

Help! – Please listen after reading…

So I had originally titled this piece High Noon which was to be my take on the modern-day showdown between Sheriff Joe Arpaio and Barack Obama…knowing how we all used to love a good western! This would have been powerful enough when you consider some very interesting similarities between the two plots…

High Noon was made in 1952 starring Gary Cooper as Sheriff Will Kane who is about to hang up his guns and ride off into the sunset with his new wife (Grace Kelly…it doesn’t get much sunnier than that!) when he learns that Frank Miller (Ian MacDonald), a man he sent to prison, is coming to town to exact his revenge. Here’s where it gets interesting…

Will decides he must go back and face Miller. However, when he seeks the help of the townspeople he has protected for so long, they turn their backs on him. It seems Kane may have to face Miller alone, as well as the rest of Miller’s gang, who are waiting for him at the station…Imagine that! I’m sure Sheriff Joe doesn’t have to imagine!http://www.wnd.com/2012/04/sheriff-joe-expands-obama-probe-to-hillary-supporters/

Now I’d like to pause the movie here for just a minute if I may, to ask you a very important question. What is the greatest fear you have ever faced? For me it was public speaking, which I ultimately conquered with a few doses of Toastmasters. Of course there was that time in a remote swamp in Louisiana when I stared into the barrel of a loaded gun…pointed at me by a man who I knew full well had pulled the trigger before in similar situations. But that didn’t count for the simple reason that I did not consciously choose to put myself in that situation, unlike Kane and Arpaio…which is exactly what makes them such powerfully compelling figures!

The other fascinating aspect of this analogy is that in the original High Noon, there were no stakeholders outside of Hadleyville. There was only Will Kane & his wife, Frank Miller & his gang…and the townspeople of Hadleyville. In the High Noon of today, there is Sheriff Joe & his Cold Case Posse versus Obama, Soros, Jamie Dimon, a Corrupt Congress, the Central Banks & MSM…and the citizens of the world are the townspeople!

Now let that sink in a little to help you visualize the darkness, caliber and size of the barrel that Sheriff Joe is staring into…knowing full well the nature of those pointing it at him!

So here I am thinking I’ve got the story wrapped…until it occurs to me. I am writing High Noon on Good Friday Eve! Jesus is enduring his Agony in the Garden of Gethsemane at this very moment…the Highest Noon of them all!! The tumblers clicked and the earth shook as the Deepak Synchronicity took my breath away…

I was there among them…they slept while he trembled there in the dark. He knew. He knew it all…everything came down to this night! His fear was so great I thought his heart would explode out of his chest and he would die before me. But he sweat so deeply his tears mixed with blood from his very pours…cascading to the ground where he knelt praying with such intensity. Surely, I thought, God would save him. And then a light…

and the most wondrous peace I’d ever felt. He was there and not there…in the center of the glow…passing like the eye of a great storm…and then voices…Judas.

Gethsemane, Hadleyville and Maricopa County have all come together…superimposed on the head of this very moment in time that you and I are living and breathing! Two heroes honoring the greatest love of them all…while the townspeople slept and looked away. It is High Noon in Gethsemane…both hands are on the twelve. What will you do? Hearing his voice, knowing his fear and feeling his pain…who can ever look away again?
