There is a pathetic shadow of a creature/former friend turned radical we had the amazing foresight to nickname after a rodent some forty odd years ago, who follows my blog with the same obsessive energy and creepiness of Gollum stalking Frodo!
In fact Gollum is the picture-perfect caricature of the Progressive Left in this country. Everything they take, they take in the shadows…behind backs and closed doors. They are not made for standing. They are best at lurking and looking for fear and weakness. Like jackals, they only ever know courage in numbers…which makes them the perfect pawns of the State. Because the State knows that when it no longer needs the collective muscle, it can easily dispose of the individual coward.
Every single one of us was raised with an appreciation for the virtues of individual responsibility and accountability, and yet here we are somehow ready to re-elect a President who loves to own the power of the office but refuses to own the responsibility that goes with it. Which episode of the Twilight Zone are we living in? Everything is worse by every measure and he owns none of it? Oh yeah, I forgot to mention…Gollum is a card-carrying member of the Main Stream Media! Hmm, do you think there could be a connection?
Now that I think of it, the union thugs and occupy whiners make excellent orcs and ringwraiths shilling for the powers of darkness! As tongue in cheek as that may seem, anyone who doesn’t see the glaring resemblance of the current day stage to the human events that invited the very same darkness that engulfed the European Continent…dragging the world into two wars last century, has no knowledge of history! You have the NEA to thank for your historical illiteracy! It was by design I assure you! This painfully dark and tragic chapter of human history was the very inspiration of Tolkien’s Lord of the Ring Trilogy.
The Founders in their infinite wisdom understood that no mortal could control the power of the ring and so they established us as a Republic to, in essence, protect us from ourselves. But the Progressive Elite who crave the power of the ring, can only claim it by undoing the Constitutional safeguards our founders put in place…fulfilling their promise of fundamental transformation. And I guess the Republican nominee, by the end of all the debates, caucuses, campaigns, etc. is the poor, beaten Frodo(who will our candidate be?) against Saroman (Obama). The wonderful Hobbits are the hard working Tea Party, giving their all and their donations from $1 to $100, or more. Of course the Elves are the wealthy Conservatives who can give almost everything else the Tea Party can’t. They are polished and elegant, but not the hearts of their little political allies! These must always fight the Orcs (Unions, ACORN, OWS,) who are the most unpleasant of all creatures to deal with.
I could go on and on fitting political faces with Tolkein characters….it’s the age old story of good vs. evil. The more I see of this administration, the more I believe it.
If we were living a Twilight Zone episode, it would definitely be “To Serve Man.” Think about it!
You’ve developed it better than I could Miss Daisy! Yes good versus evil is what it has always boiled down to…since the beginning of time. The nature of man is exactly the same in 2011 as it was in the 1930’s and every other time period!
