The Exclusive Problem with “Inclusiveness”!

“If you’re not a liberal at 20 you have no heart, if not a conservative at 40 you have no brain”~ Winston Churchill

Nature is a wonderful classroom sometimes. Take the Venus Fly Trap for instance. An amazing plant that eats flies by luring them into its jaws with a sweet nectar that the fly is unable to resist.

Now if I were the strategist of some radical ideology that I wanted to impose on a society, this example of nature would be the heart of my plan. Lincoln himself realized this:

“A drop of honey catches more flies than a gallon of gal. So with men. If you would win a man to your cause, first convince him that you are his sincere friend. Therein is a drop of honey which catches his heart, which, say what he will, is the highroad to his reason.”

There are two enemies that have thus breached the walls of our society and are in effect, already dissembling us from within. They are the radical ideologies of Islam and Progressivism which are equally incompatible with the constitutional laws of our society! And yet, we have become the fly in their trap because they’ve disarmed us with the nectar of “inclusiveness” which goes by many names like multiculturalism and coexistence…so sweet, so fragrant, flowery…and nice. What decent human being could resist?

I witnessed a young man’s greatest accomplishment in Scouting by being officially recognized as an Eagle Scout on Saturday. He was the only one of three who acknowledged the recent decision of the Boy Scouts of America to partially lift their ban and include gay boy scouts in his remarks. To his mind, it wasn’t about the violation of oath…it was about inclusiveness. He spoke his mind from his heart with honor. But, to echo Paul Harvey’s famous line, he was not equipped with the rest of the story.

Because the young man who has not been taught the story of Samuel here is as spiritually malnourished as the same young man who has been deprived of the story of our founding is academically malnourished. An uninformed decision, as nice as it may seem, is a bad decision. And you know that it is a bad decision because persecution and dishonor will be it’s fruit! There have been 20,000 victims of Islamic inclusiveness since 9/11 with the beheading of Lee Rigby making the most recent headless head-line. And all one needs to do is turn from Obama’s endless scandals to the Boy Scouts to behold the latest victim of Progressivism (in spite of 2/3 of scout leaders)…and the death of Honor. RIP

In the Progressive world, a public confession of sexual orientation constitutes honor and courage…as in the case of Jason Collins. Our young man wouldn’t recognize the names of Glen Doherty and Ty Woods to save his life. But the 33 Americans who are alive today because Glen Doherty and Ty Woods disobeyed stand-down orders to fly into harms way  to rescue them in Benghazi will never forget their names. They fought with honor and courage to defend their position taking out dozens of the enemy, saving the lives of 33 Americans before they themselves were finally killed by mortar fire, waiting for the help that never came…and then they were lied about, covered up and forgotten…except by their families, 33 Americans and those of us paying attention of course. And their Commander in Chief who abandoned them to die practically wet his pants to recognize and honor the gay basketball player!

You see, the real problem with inclusiveness on Progressive terms is what gets excluded! They want a world where our young men look up to the man who sells himself to advance their agenda and sell his book. True honor and courage could constitute a real problem in the herd. In our zeal to be inclusive, we end up excluding the people and things we loved the most without realizing or caring…until one day we wake up and wonder, “Hey where did common sense go?”

Common Sense ~ If and when the American Fly wakes up to the false charms of the fly trap, she will be inclusive to all who are willing to check their multicultural BS at the door of assimilation into “One Nation Under God”! And if you are unable or unwilling to adhere to the values of a particular organization in a free society, then you are free not to join it! You are even free to start your own!! God Bless America! That includes you! 🙂

It’s ironic that you seem to have something against inclusiveness, and “multicultural BS,” when you belong to a Church that means “universal.”
As James Joyce wrote, Catholic means, “Here comes everybody.”

  2. shutupnsing says:

…then why do you hold your breath when it comes to Doherty & Woods?

    • L. says:

Perhaps because this particular conversation wasn’t about Benghazi until just now?

      • L. says:

I never said I wasn’t outraged, did I? No, that was you who said it. It’s impossible to defend points I never made, so I won’t bother.

Lisa I need to address the absurdity of your position…I’ve come to like you personally. But if pee was hypocrisy, you’d be a racehorse…yes, you would be Hamiltonian! On my most recent blog in which I juxtaposed the “outing” of Jason Collins with the “Honor” of Woods & Doherty to make my point that the Progressives aren’t about “Inclusive”, they are about “Agenda”…you made the comment that “inclusiveness comes as natural as breathing to some of us”. The truth is that if you were as much about inclusiveness as you say you are, you would be just as outraged as the rest of us on tragic deaths of Woods and Doherty. Using your breathing metaphor…you choose to inhale Collins and expel Woods & Doherty because they don’t fit your world view agenda. Which in and of itself would be fine in a free world. But the world has become much less free since (to Random Thought’s point) you put a tyrant in the WH simply because he catered to your special interest…which you’ve clearly put before country. Note- When I say “you” I’m referring to the Progressive in you.

It seems to me that this young Eagle Scout was not “malnourished”. He just has a very different viewpoint than you. He attended religious education for 12 years, became Bar Mitzvah twice (once in Jerusalem) has been confirmed and is a leader of his youth group. He believes that God is loving and loves all his children equally. God is not to be feared but to be loved and respected. His temple does not require anyone to denigh their past or their true selves in order to be accepted.

As for his “malnourished” academics… I think you may not realized that he is salutatorian of his class of 400, and has been accepted to 8 top private schools in the country including being waited at Harvard and Princeton. He was offered a Presidential scholarship at Boston University and is going to Brown University on a 2/3 scholarship.
What does your resume look like?

Change is hard. But it is necessary and inevitable. So, to look at change with fear and hatred , is only going to make it seem dark and daunting. If we look at it with excitement and anticipation for what may be around the corner, we just might be surprised at what can be accomplished if we work together toward a better goal.

Yes, this govt is very far overreaching, and there are things that have been outrageous, but we cannot go back into what it was, there is no turning back the clock. Time does not allow that… no matter how much we may want to. The only way to save something is to look to the future and to see how can we save what we can and where can and take it from there. We have to see that the only way to a better place is accepting others for who they are and knowing that their sexual orientation or color of their skin or religious beliefs does not make them wrong, only different and adds another dimension to our interesting, amazing world.

“you might find, you get what you need”

  5. shutupnsing says:

@Lisa “the Progressive in you” is not outraged. I only applied the term to you because you identified yourself as “Progressive” on the Nadal thread. Perhaps you are simply a Liberal in which case I would ask you to try and be objective for a moment…If Democracy is two wolves and a sheep deciding what to have for dinner, Liberalism is the sheep providing the recipe, doing the shopping and offering to pay for the meal! But the Progressive IS the wolf. I honored “our young man” in my post because he acted with honor. It is the Progressive I take aim at for leaving him uninformed and misinformed in areas of our heritage essential to our liberty and freedom. You declare your “outrage” with government’s “overreach”…but you carry their water…and continue to distance and EXCLUDE those of us who have had their number all along! …the actions of promoting the IRS Executive responsible for Targeting citizen’s opposed to Obama’s policies to even greater power over us as the “enforcement arm” of Obamacare, Susan Rice to Nat’l Security Advisor and Samantha Power to Ambassador to the UN are not the actions of a government of the people, by the people and for the people…No, this is the sound of the dinner bell clanging loud and clear!

  6. shutupnsing says:

Oh, and by the way…the story I linked to above was broken by a BRITISH journalist!

  7. 357foto says:

You continue to say that he is uninformed. Perhaps you are not listening or just refuse to hear me. I have to stress, vehemently, that he is not uninformed. He knows what he is talking about, he is not a small child. He is a very intelligent, well read, educated young man who has feelings and opinions on very controversial issues that clearly you do not agree with. However, you’re insisting that he has been lead around by some group and convinced that his opinion is “uninformed” . It is not!
Maybe you could learn something from him. I do all the time. It is not about republican or democrat or liberal or conservative, it’s about humanity. And I really do thank God that he, and others like him, are here and are the future of our world. Maybe they can do what we have failed to do, create peace in our lifetime. As long as he is here, I won’t give up the dream.

    • shutupnsing says:

You are absolutely right. The young salutatorian who has learned that “the purpose of our constitution was to expand government” is not uninformed, he is misinformed. I have witnessed the calculated intention of his educators to mold his perspective on Republicans from people with “feelings and opinions on very controversial issues that clearly you do not agree with” to one of disdain and distrust! Since when do the dreams of those we love require the willful blindness of those who love us most?

  8. 357foto says:

So …if I understand what you are saying, if anyone disagrees with your opinion, they are “misinformed”, “misguided”, and/or “willfully blind”. Interesting. It sounds like you believe you have all the answers since you are clearly the only one that is “properly informed”. I do not hear distain or distrust from anyone but you. It must be a very dark place. Maybe you should pick up your head from the darkness and look into the light. There really is light here. You just need to open your heart and your eyes to see that there really are some very wonderful miracles to see and to bring into your life. It is very sad that you have turned away from them. Yes there is darkness and we should not try to pretend that darkness does not exist, but we also must acknowledge that there is more light and love to be had. We just need to be opened to it and set a place at the table for it, so that it feels comfortable and becomes a larger part of who we are.

This is really just my opinion, and you do not have to subscribe to it. It just feels right to me.
