God gave me the gift of song-writing, singing, and playing which Satan would no doubt have preferred I use for my glory. To be truthful, I started on that path until I realized the source and chose instead to turn the channeling gift to His glory. The key element in the Chambers passage above is sacrifice. What am I sacrificing when I use the gift for my own gain or purpose is the sister argument for what am I risking when I let others fight my battles? The argument I get most from fellow Christians who choose not to fight, is that “it is all in God’s hands.” The convenience of their argument is the proof in their own lack of sacrifice. If it is all in God’s hands, he wouldn’t have called on Nehemiah to build the wall. We may have our own calling, but He calls us all to be men. How can any of us consider ourselves His faithful servant, who would allow the snakes into our Master’s house? Oswald Chambers puts it rightly when he wrote, “There is no choice of service, only absolute loyalty to our Lord’s commission; loyalty to what you discern when you are in closest contact with God.”
A Liberal friend messages me the following post this week, “Get an abortion or don’t. Be gay. Be straight. Be transgender. Be an Atheist. I’m pro-leave people alone. I’m pro-respect people even if you disagree with them. I’m pro-supporting family and friends. I’m pro-mind your own damn business!” This same week, a mutual friend of ours who would fall more to the Right and well into the Libertarian camp referred to the 9,000 American soldiers who gave their lives on D-Day as a “waste of human life.” Both friends are the nicest people you will ever meet. But to the first I would ask how do you allow someone to kill a totally innocent and viable human being, and still consider yourself a human being? To the second I would ask, was Jesus Christ a waste of human life?
Speaking of pro-leave-people-alone, the problem is that far too many of us are doing exactly that…exactly when we shouldn’t. Conservatives and Christians are targets in this rotten culture. As a result, we stay in when we need to get out, and we get out where we need to stay in. Kind of like the old Springsteen line from the song “Growing Up” revised: When they said sit down, I sat down. A wonderful man and fellow Christian accompanied me and two other Oath Keepers as we attended a Transgender indoctrination event at our public library, promoted by the Cultural Marxists at “Family Central”. He said to me before we went in, “I don’t know why I’m here.” Maybe he doesn’t. But I know that I cannot be a faithful servant and allow the snake into my Master’s House. If the Lie is not met with Truth, the Lie wins. Silence is consent. It’s really that simple. If we were not there, the Transgender presentation would have been a completely different experience. The fact that I asked honest and truthful questions that essentially forced the presenter into an aggressive and defensive demeanor had a very powerful affect on every soul in the room, whether they realized it or not. Somewhere deep inside their otherwise totally impervious “safe-space” bubble, truth had touched them. Even though I was respectful, loving, even saluting their courage at the beginning of my remarks, they did their best to completely seal themselves off from me, once they realized I wasn’t going to indulge their fantasy. The most important thing to realize here is that truth is not just irrelevant in their “Safe Space”, it is the #1 threat to their existence, as they see it…or, should I say, as they feel it.
The Democrat-controlled House of Representatives just passed the Equality Act, which would make reality subordinate to Progressive fantasy. Earlier this week, a friend of mine posted a picture of a man wearing a PTSD T-shirt (Pretty Tired of Stupid Democrats). While it is not something I would have posted, it elicited the following exchange between myself and Margo:
Margo: Just what we as a nation need… more division. Differences do happen, but why not try to listen and understand each other instead of this sort of thing.
Chip: Because the one side cheats, lies, steals, and has no connection or relationship of any sort to reality or truth. How’s that Margo?
Margo responded, “You are entitled to your opinion.” Margo, and I would guess a significant number of our Liberal friends, seem to be missing two very important points. The impetus for the T-shirt is the Democrat obsession with forcing square pegs into round holes, which everyone has the right to do with their own life, in their own home in a free society. But the Equality Act forces the square peg on all of us, and would make the opinion Margo states I’m entitled to, illegal. I’m not sure which is the better word here, draconian…or evil?
While we were engaging the lie in the East, my fellow Oath Keeper brother Keith was engaging it in the West. There will be no LGBTQ flag flying over town hall in Dublin California because 11 showed up to fight. When the modern world said sit down, they stood up! You can watch this very powerful video here if you are on Facebook.
And there are many snakes in our Father’s House, some of them in Congress…
“I rise today to defy the horrifying attacks happening against women’s reproductive rights all across this country,” Omar began. “Religious fundamentalists are currently trying to manipulate state laws in order to impose their beliefs on an entire society, all with complete disregard for voices and the rights of American women.”
President Donald Trump is in the Whitehouse because of those who fight. Representative Omar Ilhan is in our House of Representatives because of those who don’t. I’ll leave you all to ponder what Chambers meant by “service along other lines”…on this Memorial Day.
The call is loyalty to the ministry you received when you were in real touch with Him. This does not imply that there is a campaign of service marked out for you, but it does mean that you will have to ignore the demands for service along other lines. ~ Oswald Chambers, Joy in the Lord
