The Absence of Biblical Manhood!
Because thou obeyedst not the voice of the LORD, nor executedst his fierce wrath upon Amalek, therefore hath the LORD done this thing unto thee this day. ~ I Samuel 28:18
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood {Eph. 6:12}. It hit me like a freight train this week! Reading 1 Samuel 17:1—23:29, the story of the struggle between God’s anointed (David) and the enemies of God (Saul), I realized we, America, are wrestling with the very same evil today in the exact same story told in 1 Samuel 17-23; God’s anointed (America) vs the enemies of God (the Saul spirit), which rules all seven cultural mountains…including our churches. When I saw the LA Mayor meme above my instant thought: THIS is why God ordered Joshua to annihilate ALL flesh at Jericho, not because He’s a cruel God, but because that is how much He loves and wants to protect His children! He gave the same order to Saul concerning the Amalekites for the very same reason. What did Moses tell us? He (Moses) said, “For a hand is upon the throne of YHWH! YHWH will have war with Amalek from generation to generation.” Saul disobeyed God and it cost him his kingdom and eventually his life.
“Soon after their departure from Egypt, the Israelites are attacked at Rephidim by the Amalekites, a semi-nomadic people (Exod 17:8).[1] After the Israelites defeat their attackers,[2] YHWH paradoxically commands Moses to write on a scroll the promise to erase the memory of Amalek. Moses then swears that YHWH will be eternally at war against Amalek, implying that their remembrance will never be erased:
This seeming paradox continues in the retelling of the event in the book of Deuteronomy, where the Amalekites are declared to be Israel’s archrival from the past who must be annihilated, this time as a mission to be fulfilled by Israel themselves:
Earlier in the passage, Deuteronomy offers two additional reasons that do not appear in Exodus for this attitude toward Amalek: 1. The Amalekites used the cruel tactic of targeting the weak tail-end of the pack; 2. They do not fear God:” https://www.thetorah.com/article/amalek-a-pawn-in-the-rivalry-between-saul-and-davids-legacy
By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of the Lord men depart from evil. ~ Proverbs 16:6
The Saul spirit absolutely rules both church and state today. And Saul was very wroth, and the saying displeased him; and he said, They have ascribed unto David ten thousands, and to me they have ascribed but thousands: and what can he have more but the kingdom? ~ 1 Sam. 18:8 There was a moral battle going on, not just a physical one. David had won the moral battle. David had whipped “the fear of man”; Saul had not. (18:21) Notice the contrast. Saul is a murderer (vs. 17); a liar (vs. 19), a coward (vs. 12), and covetous (vs. 8). The man he is “up against” is a wise man (vs. 14), a loved man (vs. 16), a humble man (vs. 18), and a brave man (vs. 8). ~ Dr. Peter Ruckman
The very same moral battle rages today…
For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. ~ John 1:17
By mercy and truth, grace and truth, and by the light of Jesus Christ iniquity is purged. The spirit of Saul has decimated our churches turning them into silos of retreat, recreation, isolation and cultural irrelevance, as Western Civilization, absent their presence and influence, crumbles around them. Last week it was the Industrialization of Islamic Child Rape sanctioned in the UK and the LA Fires brought to us by the absence of Biblical Manhood where it matters most in men lacking the stones to tear down the high places. One can only imagine what lies in store…
But God…and His Remnant.
Amen the remnant will stand against what’s coming. The institutional church has allowed the enemy to advance. By Gods grace we will resist using the armor of truth, righteousness, faith and violence. Matt 11:12
