The Sunday Morning Tune-up ~ Self-Preservation at the Narrow Gate (24)

Count your storms a blessing! He’s preparing you to pass through…

Strive to enter through the narrow gate, for many, I say to you, will seek to enter and will not be able. ~ Luke 13:24

My Deliverance on March 11, 2026

Background: I’ve always enjoyed a good drink; cocktail before dinner, wine with a meal, and a beer or two now and then. It always seemed to make life a little more enjoyable. Except for that DWI in 1984 (.86 in the breathalyzer), I’ve lived a responsible life, built a successful financial planning practice, which I sold and retired from in 2020. All in all, a pretty good ride, blessed with good friends, not so lucky in love (except for my church family), married and divorced twice. But here’s where it gets VERY interesting brothers and sisters…

When I accepted Jesus Christ and was born again in 2015, a new life began to take shape in me. From that day to this, the promise of God’s Word in James 4:8, slowly, steadily, and patiently transformed me into more of the new man, and less of the old…except for one very clever, shrewd, and conniving houseguest that has still remained…until Wednesday, March 11. Up until then folks, I may have been the most functional Alcoholic in the world! Here’s what happened leading up to March 11th

Orange Strong Bible Study began a 12-part study of Derek Prince’s teachings on Demons & Demonology on January 20th. At the very beginning I predicted/hoped there would be deliverance in our group/circles. We have completed part 6. One of many things we’ve learned is that saved believers can, and often do, host unclean spirits. What’s another word for alcohol? Spirits!

On Monday of this week, I met with a young brother to pray. During our time together I sensed a heaviness and struggle in him. Fortunately, he opened up about the addiction struggle he and many other men are having today and we were able to pray over it and against it. Here’s the kicker: I remember thinking, “This is what is taking men out of the fight!”…oblivious to my own demon!

That same night I joined a 7-9pm Zoom call hosted by patriots in Virginia with patriots joining in from around the country. I was asked to be one of the speakers to share with the group what we’re doing here in Orange County.

The next day I watched the recording, and I could see the houseguest…in my place! I’m probably the only one who saw it. I spoke early but fell asleep at about the 1hr 30min mark missing the last segment and closing prayer. This shook me to my core, as I believe He meant it to. At that moment I saw the spirit for what it was; the deceiver, the hypocrite, the liar…it had no place to hide. I woke up Wednesday morning and it was gone!

I get up every morning at 4am, shower, light a candle, prepare for prayer, and pray before spending time in the Word. Wednesday morning everything was different. I was lighter and brighter…in the candlelight of preparation with eyes closed, I could see images joyfully dancing around me…they felt like angels to me.

My Chambers read that very morning:

And then the following morning, God plants this seed of affirmation in my Psalm & Proverb a Day…

A Psalm (Heart) & Proverb (Wisdom) a Day Drives the Tyrant Away! PS 119:57 * CHETH.* Thou art my portion, O LORD: I have said that I would keep thy words.

PR 23:30, 33 They that tarry long at the wine; they that go to seek mixed wine. Thine eyes shall behold strange women, and thine heart shall utter perverse things.

MAX ~ LEADERSHIP INSIDE—THEN OUT ~ Numbers 32:13 “The first and best victory is to conquer self.”

For whosoever exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted. ~ Luke 14:11

There is something amazingly humbling …in being loyal to God. ~ Oswald Chambers, Defiant Humility 🙏♥️🙏

Fellow patriots, I know I am not alone in having been blind to that which was holding me back from who my Creator made me to be. From my perspective, everything was OK. If you have God’s Holy Spirit in you, His perspective will eventually win, OR, you will choose to stay with your own. Before we get too hard on ourselves, we need to realize that the American church let its guard down a very long time ago. It is time for men to hold themselves and our churches accountable and choose: Are we to be loyal to ourselves, or loyal to God (Joshua 24:15)?

We cannot fix what we will not face. ~ Catherine Austin Fitts

“When self-preservation gets a foothold, we fail miserably.”  ~ Jamie Walden https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bNBth6OPdWo&t=302s

“Stop cursing your storms and start giving thanks for them.” ~ Jorge Vega, Orange Strong Train Them Up Committee (Prov. 22:6) https://www.facebook.com/reel/1227288362410420

Please feel free to share with anyone you know who is going through the same struggle. Tell them from me that love may be “a many splendored thing,” but liberation is the father of true love, not found in any of the ISM’S, but in the Christian. For who can truly love while under the yoke of Satan? Lastly, please feel free to give them my contact info to be available to them as a brother to pray with and talk to…in this late hour.

Your brother in Christ,

Chip

Wow! I was captivated! I couldn’t believe what I was reading! Confession, repentance, reconciliation, grace….the scales were removed! We all have areas in our life that needs a total cleansing. I know I will take a closer look at my life and look for areas where I have allowed the enemy to infiltrate in subtle ways….

    God bless,

We can bring all strongholds to the cross and believe in the power of the Blood of Christ to destroy them. One of the biggest mistakes I have ever made was to think that I could deal with strongholds all by myself…Satan is more powerful than any human being, and God gave us His Son in order to protect and redeem us from evil…from the snares of the devil. If ever there was a deadly snare, it was alcohol…That’s why the Soviets, in the 50s and 60s made Russian vodka available in huge quantities in Europe at rock bottom prices. Thousands became alcoholics and the curse especially impacted teenagers.

When we go to the cross to get help we are always assured that we will receive the help and deliverance we need.

    God bless,

    Sir Eric M.
