Which side are you on?

Which side are you on?

‘Silence in the face of evil is itself evil: God will not hold us guiltless. Not to speak is to speak. Not to act is to act.’ ~ Dietrich Bonhoeffer

Every yin has its yang. For good there is evil. For love there is hate. For night there is day. But the Bible has no opposite, because evil is incapable of producing its match. In the very same way that darkness exists only as the absence of light, evil is incapable of creation. Therefore, it’s only possible response to the Bible is to overshadow, pave over, cover up, and suppress. But while Truth can be overshadowed, paved over, covered up and suppressed, it can never be eliminated or extinguished…here sailor, is your North Star! Good Sunday Morning Dear Friend.

Of Good & Evil

The character of America, the greatest nation freedom has ever known, was forged from a society nourished on Judeo-Christian values. We are in the process of experiencing and learning what happens to this character after these values are disgorged. What on earth could possibly influence a culture to turn away from the wisdom that has flowed like a mighty river from the books of the Old and the New Testaments for two thousand years? Think of the preacher in Ecclesiastes who cleaved to wisdom while amassing his kingdom, tasting every pleasure in accomplishing everything, only to see the underlying vanity and realize the emptiness of everything the earth has to offer.

We are now witnessing the devastating consequences to our western civilization resulting from churches and clergy who’ve sold themselves out of the morality business…and into the shill of silence and empty-speak! When a sitting Pope turns his back on the Cross“We Catholics have some — and not some, many — who believe in the absolute truth and go ahead dirtying the other with calumny, with disinformation, and doing evil…I say this because it is my church.” …to take up the banner of the State, we know our world has finally entered its darkest hour. By no longer encouraging confession, defending marriage and calling out evil, we in the West have lost our greatest Sentry. Worse than that I fear, we have a Pope who “equates Islamic Terrorists with “Fundamentalist Catholics”! How long before the Shepherd is sharing mutton recipes with the Wolf? How is this even possible?

Unfortunately we are well beyond the possible and deep into the inevitable for the simplest of reasons. Good has taken a leave of absence while evil has been working overtime. Think about who replaced the sentries (academia and spiritual charlatans) over time, combined with the most common lethal thread of human nature…the desire to avoid conflict. The sheep have been taught that evil does not exist. There is no such thing as a Muslim Terrorist! There are only the “violent extremists” we are not permitted to identify; who rape, slaughter, butcher and dismember in the name of their Allah!

When men were men, being good meant you were endeavoring to be of virtuous character. A person of virtuous character could be relied upon to be truthful, humble, brave, courteous, kind, respectful and, when necessary, self-sacrificing. Where is this man today? Today good has come to mean, agreeable, nice, pleasant, compromising, inclusive, sensitive and, when necessary, silent! They knew what they knew in San Bernadino 52 hours before they broke their silence…

There’s a killer on the road                                                                                                His brain is squirmin’ like a toad                                                                                     Take a long holiday Let your children play                                                                    If you give this man a ride Sweet family will die                                                  Killer on the road, yeah

I would tell you of a similar time-line in Germany during the last century where Germans actually went from being good neighbors to one another, to being less than neighborly and suspicious of one another, to being indifferent to the persecution of their neighbor, to being aloof to the disappearance of their neighbors, to being in denial to the murder of their neighbors.

“The Party seeks power entirely for its own sake. We are not interested in the good of others; we are interested solely in power, pure power. What pure power means you will understand presently. We are different from the oligarchies of the past in that we know what we are doing. All the others, even those who resembled ourselves, were cowards and hypocrites. The German Nazis and the Russian Communists came very close to us in their methods, but they never had the courage to recognize their own motives. They pretended, perhaps they even believed, that they had seized power unwillingly and for a limited time, and that just around the corner there lay a paradise where human beings would be free and equal. We are not like that. We know that no one ever seizes power with the intention of relinquishing it. Power is not a means; it is an end. One does not establish a dictatorship in order to safeguard a revolution; one makes the revolution in order to establish the dictatorship. The object of persecution is persecution. The object of torture is torture. The object of power is power. Now you begin to understand me.” ~ George Orwell, 1984

The time to think about where you will stand is long past. The time to stand where you stand is here and now. On the front page of the December 4th edition of the Times Herald Record is a tale of three sheriffs. The sheriffs of Ulster and Sullivan Counties recommended, in response to the ISLAMIC Terror Attack in San Bernadino, that those people in their jurisdictions with conceal-carry permits should carry their guns…while the sheriff of Orange County played it safe by attempting to straddle the issue. The two, placing themselves at risk, honored their oath by putting people before politics. The other chose for himself the path of the goat. There is no choice to straddle, for straddle (the closest cousin of silence)…is only a choice for those who lack the courage to choose! Make your bed this day with great care Dear Friend…

“And he will set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. Then the King will say to those on his right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world’…Then he will also say to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels.’ ~ Matthew 25:33-34, 41

  1. Bill Banuchi says:

The problem is not “extremism” or “radicalism”. I’m extremely in love with Jesus and radically committed to His cause. That calls for extreme and radical love. The problem is Islamism and the call to kill the Infidel. Call it for what it is.
