Paul teaches us in Romans 8:6-7: For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.  Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

I understood the difference between the carnal and spiritual minds Paul wrote about in the scripture above, in fact, Elder Ryan’s “Make No Provision for the Flesh” message in early 2025, taken from Romans 7, 8, and Galatians 5, inspired me to unplug from “it” to the best of “my” ability and fast for forty days. This year, in the same exact timeframe, I was led to the same fast through Pastor Steve’s message on Nehemiah chapters 1-4 and Nehemiah’s pain. Only in my case it was over the fall of New York City to Islam, in place of Nehemiah’s Jerusalem.

The HEART revelation:

God used the two fasts and their specific seeds (Paul’s teaching’s New Testament & Nehemiah from the Old) to prepare my Heart for a wife and the next level of “His” Spiritual life in me. Now, God shows me Romans 8:22 in a wonderfully illuminating whole new light!
