DO NOT Miss This One!

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. ~ John 14:12

The reality of contemporary Christian life is that we who call ourselves Christian are in the same boat, whether we care to admit it or not. We’ve ALL sailed from the port of John 14:12 over two thousand years ago, some will make the final Luke 19:17 port, “Well done, good and faithful servant,” but most have their carnal minds locked on course to the Matthew 7:22-23 port of eternal regret, “I will profess to them, I never knew you:”

Frocine and I just started a Bible study with a solid Remnant core of believers yesterday. We are reading the book “Birthright” by Timothy Alberino. In the introduction he describes himself, As a boy pining for adventure, enamored of The Chronicles of Narnia and The Lord of the Rings, I, too, began to see the gospel as a heroic story—an epic saga filled with dramatic battles, valiant deeds, treacherous villains, and victories snatched from the jaws of defeat. In today’s society, the Bible is generally regarded as an archaic book of Jewish fables with little relevance to modern man.  

As a consequence, most all of us reading these words bear a much closer resemblance to a petrified forest than the sons and daughters God made us to be, walking it out on our way to victory in snatching our birthright from the jaws of he that is in the world.

Brother Keith, who leads the Alberino study, lauded Alberino’s aspiration to “kick Satan’s teeth out” on the call yesterday. When I asked what would that look like, someone responded, “leading souls to Christ,” to which I replied Amen. BUT, I would take it a step further; akin to teach a man to fish, I would say the very last thing this Enemy wants us ALL to learn is what it means to walk it out, and how to do so. This is KEY to the harvest…a born again church cut loose from the anchor chains of the carnal mind doldrums, where even the passengers in straight up Bible churches, mired in the worldly mosh pit, suffer disease, addiction, and heartache have cut themselves off from His John 14:12 promise. Even these will miss the boat! PLEASE don’t let that be you and yours…
