We don’t need no education
We don’t need no thought control
No dark sarcasm in the classroom
Teachers leave them kids alone
Hey! teachers! leave the kids alone!
All in all you’re just another brick in the wall.
All in all you’re just another brick in the wall. ~ Roger Waters
It’s impossible to overstate the disaster that is the presidency of Barack Obama. We’ve surpassed two dozen scandals on his watch…and counting. The most definitive word to describe our world during the Obama years will be “chaos”. And I predict his twisted ideological meddling will be responsible for more deaths worldwide than the regimes of Hitler and Stalin combined, before he is through! In fact, adding Pol Pot wouldn’t be a stretch. Bear in mind, I am factoring in the worldwide slaughter of innocents by Muslim Savages too widespread to calculate, too brutal to imagine, too bloody to bear…and every single drop will be on his hands!
So how in the world could we have ever allowed such a morally reprehensible, anti-American misfit into our top executive post to reap such mind-numbing havoc in the first place? In a word…Education.
There are two settings that involve Obama that cause an extremely strong visceral reaction in me. The first is when he appears before our men and women in uniform. The second is when he appears before our students. The first is an insult to honor. The second is an insult to intellect. The latter is described here perfectly by National Center for Public Policy Research Chairman Amy Ridenour, in response to what she refers to as Obama’s “inappropriate” commencement speech at the University of California.
The worst quality of arrogance is the lack of respect and complete disregard it shows its audience! There is more than one photograph of Obama out there where he displays an imperial chin-jut reminiscent of the WW II Italian Dictator, Benito Mussolini. In fact, Putin himself has said “Dealing with Obama is like playing chess with a pigeon. The pigeon knocks over all the pieces, (craps) on the board and then struts around like it won the game.” The problem is that history tells us time and time again, that when it comes to politics; Italian, Russian, American…in fact ALL audiences get the entertainment they deserve! Show me your schools, and I’ll show you who you will become. Arrogance will only ever command an audience that has lost respect for itself!
This fabulous piece by John Taylor Gatto entitled “Against Schools” explains, “you needn’t have studied marketing to know that there are two groups of people who can always be convinced to consume more than they need to: addicts and children. School has done a pretty good job of turning our children into addicts, but it has done a spectacular job of turning our children into children.”
In April of 1924, H. L. Mencken wrote in The American Mercury that “the aim of public education is not to fill the young of the species with knowledge and awaken their intelligence. . . . Nothing could be further from the truth. The aim…is simply to reduce as many individuals as possible to the same safe level, to breed and train a standardized citizenry, to put down dissent and originality. That is its aim in the United States . . . and that is its aim everywhere else.”
Gatto & Mencken are 100% on the mark! We have been conditioned as a society to lay down for Obama and those who have put him in power. We so desperately need to look up from the mundane chores we’ve been tasked to perform and Carpe Diem! I don’t care if you’re some hot-shot research scientist on the brink of the cure for cancer…if you’re doing so at the pleasure of tyrants, then you are the minister of mundane and the master of little more than your own illusions!
Actually, the way this morning’s writing evolved grew from the Gatto piece sent to me early yesterday morning by my friend Dorothy…which just happened to set the stage perfectly for the Ridenour observation by way of serendipity, followed in the early afternoon by this inspiring message from my friend Kim:
First I’d like to make an announcement. After a little soul searching, I have decided to run for the Mahwah Board of Education with the message, “Many Voices, One Message…Education 1st”. I hope I am able to earn the support of my fellow community members and I look forward to working for the parents/taxpayers of Mahwah as a liaison between you and our school system. Thank you.
Topic #2: For anyone interested in learning how to influence legislators and policy, here is a link to an organization that teaches citizens how to rediscover, own and preserve their civic authority.
I just took a Level 1 class from the “Center for Self Governance” on Saturday in Sparta. It was extremely educational, eye-opening and encouraging. It was an all day event (9am-5pm) and I HIGHLY recommend it! I’m looking forward to taking the next level class when it becomes available in my area.
Here is a link to the organization:
Topic #3: I will be attending the movie, “We Will Not Conform” (the Common Core film). The screening I’m attend will take place at the AMC Garden State Plaza on Sunday, 6/22 at 8pm. Here is a link in order to purchase tickets to a theatre in your area.
I love that the “Center for Self-Governance” class is being taught in “Sparta”! How poetically perfect is that! You and I were not born to be bricks in the walls of despotism. You and I were born to be the masters of our own destiny! Its time to look up, stand up and join the thousands of Kim’s around this country engaging and re-claiming!! Let them eat their own pudding…and make their own bricks! 🙂
