This all means of course that you must have a deep spiritual life as well. Your son will listen to you, but he will watch you more than he will listen. If you say the Rosary, he will. If he understands that you understand we are in spiritual warfare, then he will come to understand it and live it as well. ~ Michael Voris
When I was a young boy I attended church on Sundays with my family, as most of the other kids I grew up with did. I didn’t see myself has having a spiritual life then because church was only one hour of the week…even though I was searching inside. It could also be because I didn’t see my father leading a “deep spiritual life” six days a week. I remember being more awakened to my own spirituality by the experience of reading books like Siddhartha and Be Here Now…and then of course, I joined a dozen of my high school friends to follow the Beatles into Transcendental Meditation. None of this had the slightest hint of “spiritual warfare” to it. In fact it was all anti-warfare by “peace & love” design. In retrospect, this is a huge part of how we were raised to become a nation of sheep. Good “Father’s Day” Sunday Morning Dear Friend!
The Spiritual Warrior Father
I know plenty of good dads out there who do a good job parenting and role-modeling for their sons and daughters. I believe they truly love their kids and sacrifice plenty to help them succeed in life. But I see very few of them, if any at all, nurturing and preparing their sons and daughters for the essential life Michael Voris is talking about. It’s as if (and I hold Vatican 2 100% responsible) we’ve been building very expensive airplanes with only left wings for the last 50 years!
Here’s something to think about which illustrates this theory perfectly. The Marxist Southern Poverty Law Center just published what amounts to a “Fatwa” hit-list on the twelve persons standing up to the greatest evil of our time…and they are all women! This would not be possible if America’s fathers were living lives as spiritual warriors. In fact we have been living and role-modeling as spiritual wall flowers! We may be Captain Marvels in the physical realm, industry titans and men of wealth and substance. But we have bred and conditioned ourselves to become 90 pound weaklings in matters of our spiritual and moral health…and it is coming back to haunt us with a vengeance!
It’s as if we were sitting as a family in our living rooms one day, and all of a sudden these strangers came into our homes without knocking, and started replacing all of our stuff with their stuff while we sat and watched…with indifference! “The point of this” as Ann writes, “is that unless and until the intelligent, wise, morally upright (Warrior Fathers) on this earth stop cowering in shame before psychopaths, imbeciles and moral degenerates, and face up to the fact that they must reassert themselves and reclaim their place in society WHICH IS THEIR DUTY, there is no non-supernatural remedy to any of this, and it will continue to spiral into hell.”
Ann goes on to say that she is “not optimistic.” And neither am I, for good reason. What the Sons of America are witnessing in the Fathers of America on this Father’s Day, are fathers acting and pretending that none of this is actually happening! At the end of the movie 300, as King Leonidas and his men lay dying, one of the King’s men with his last words says to Leonidas, “My king, it’s an honor to have died at your side.” And Leonidas responds, “It’s an honor to have lived at yours.”
Our sons will never know this honor because we have not taught them how to die. We have only taught them how to survive physically…if even that. We’ve taught them how to be politically correct, when to sit down and to avoid standing up, how to go along to get along, how to get ahead…because that’s what we as fathers have done with our own lives. How, you might ask, did we stray so far from the path?
“The most evident mark of God’s anger, and the most terrible castigation He can inflict upon the world, is manifest when He permits His people to fall into the hands of a clergy who are more in name than in deed, priests who practice the cruelty of ravening wolves rather than the charity and affection of devoted shepherds. They abandon the things of God to devote themselves to the things of the world and, in their saintly calling of holiness, they spend their time in profane and worldly pursuits. When God permits such things, it is a very positive proof that He is thoroughly angry with His people and is visiting His most dreadful wrath upon them.” ~ Saint John EudesRight on time…your Eminence!
