The Sunday Morning Tune-up ~ Of Sheep and Men

Waiting on the Wolf

Innumerable confusions and a feeling of despair invariably emerge in periods of great technological and cultural transition…The global village is a little town where everybody is maliciously engaged in poking his nose into everybody else’s business. You don’t necessarily have harmony. ~ Marshall McLuhan

Nothing like the musings of prognosticators long gone to make one realize they were simply here ahead of us. Alas, our most unnatural resource of innumerable confusions and malicious engagements over anything and everything from NFL kneeling to school shootings, turning even the act of sin upside down; once a foul against God, now crimes against ourselves in the social justice courts of insanity. Offenses like microaggressions, cultural appropriation, and so-called hate speech are moving our society into a dark and sterile paralysis of expression…a place of fear…or the Isle of “Dead-Fish Stasis”, as Warren refers to it.

I wrote the following in response to David Warren’s tribute to the McLuhans; It’s as if the McLuhans, Lewis’s, Chestertons, and Sheens are being bred out of us. After all, when Truth becomes the target, and critical thinking is punished rather than rewarded, who but the masochists will dare go there? Think about what our world would be had these lions of truth chosen to curl up into the fetal position their modern-day counterparts have so clearly embraced…aka Dolan at the Met Gala.

In my former community, men sit silently on their hands while the cheerleaders of sodomy, political-correctness, and gender-confusion draw up the blueprint for their future. Ireland, the last stronghold to stand against the slaughter of innocence has fallen…as the last man standing is jailed for 13 months for daring to speak out about the Muslim Rape Gang Epidemic.

On this Memorial Day weekend, we are celebrating the ghost of man. Not a one of them died for what we have made of their sacrifice. But I cannot end on such a dismal note. Reading Killing England while listening to Killing Reagan this past week has reminded me of the presence of something greater in us…in our DNA, that gives me hope. There is a Reaganesque man yet standing on this side of the pond who says what he means and means what he says.

The question to my mind…is he leading a nation of men, or herding a flock of sheep?

So true Chip, so true. To summarize, there is a man in upstate New York who is thirty years old and still lives in his parents home. The family went to court to try and force their son to move out. They won. What a spectacle this created of all that is wrong with men today. He also has an eight year old son whom he does not financially ( emotionally or spiritually ) support. He somehow thinks it is okay and justified to not work. He is quite happy to take rather than give. I actually felt sorry for him in a way. Other times this story is majorly frustrating. To think of all the evil philosophies that have led a young man to live like this. All the stuff you are talking of in this post, Wake-up people.
