Are you ready? Last Sunday we were listening to a father share the struggle he is having with the world view of his adult children and their fear-based compliance to the media narratives around politics and Covid. When he shared the pain of how disrespectfully the daughter had treated him on a recent visit, my mentor in the Faith listening along with me said, “That’s another spirit.”

That was a pivotal day in the spiritual war the vast majority of us are not in. As I shared yesterday, the Holy Spirit is moving mightily. BUT, we have to be in It, or better said, It in us to win it! I shared the “Cast Away” revelation in the P&FW Invite this week in which the pastor of the church of indifference to public affairs gave his “Identity Crisis” and overcoming fear sermon using the movie Cast Away starring Tom Hanks…how Hanks’ character Chuck was defeated by the powerful waves and currents in his attempts to escape the island. At the very same time in the church of the other Spirit, my mentor in the Faith was delivering what I heard as a time to rise and shine message. It was my first experience with a pulpit-led church reading in the first two paragraphs of the Declaration of Independence in unison. And we heard how our culture has been conditioned to avoid the two topics that have the greatest impact on our lives, politics and religion. The tragic consequences of which, we are only now discovering.

The pivotal moment came in the juxtaposition of the two church messages and the other spirit my mentor revealed later that same day. That is ALL Holy Spirit! God connected those things that control the tides and waves on Chuck’s Island to the politics and religion that control our world. Chuck would still be trapped on his island if he stayed indifferent to those things that impacted his island the most. And we will condemn ourselves and our children to a miserable future of enslavement if we allow our ecclesia to continue on its present path of indifference. This brings us to the two spirits. The same other spirit that seeks to estrange the father from his daughter is the same exact spirit that wants to estrange the Father from His children, and keep His ecclesia divided.

The next day Holy Spirit put this on my heart, and invited this exchange:  

Turn off everything and love everything and everyone near you with ALL you have. Give yourself away!

Easier said than done bro.

John 12:24…Matthew 19:16-22…Mark 10:25…time to choose brother, the lie of the world, or Him. Maybe “detach” would have been a better word to use than the term “turn off”. That’s the path the hiding church “indifferent to public affairs” has elected to take. Jesus was in the world and detached at the same time. James 4:8 drew me to a place I never thought possible.

The next morning I shared the above exchange with a brother from the church of indifference to public affairs in my response to this text from him:

There are 352 “fear not” passages in the Bible, and yet…

God expects His children to be so confident in Him that in any crisis they are the reliable ones. ~ Oswald Chambers, The Theology of Trust…Do not participate in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead even expose them;” ~ Ephesians 5:11

God is serving notice on the other spirit in the classical western-style, “This town ain’t big enough for the two of us.” How you might ask? By revealing the light of truth, He will say. Once the other spirit knows it has been seen, it can no longer hide behind the lies that are being revealed. This, dear brothers and sisters, is the ultimate truth of spiritual warfare. This is why every demon spirit feared Jesus. This is the truth behind His “Greater works you will do” promise in Luke 14:12-14, and the Luke 10:19 authority to trample on serpents and scorpions He has given us as His children. When I sent the Aaron Lewis song “Up to Me” to my brother of the church of indifference, he responded to me as I knew he would, “Its not up to us…” Which spirit do you suppose would have fed him that lie? And then He gave me the “Hope Chest”!

Several parents sued the Pennsbury School Board last year after board members cut off their microphones and ordered them removed from a public meeting. I’d say the Pennsbury Parents know who it is up to! Just like the evil that was called out in Otisville this past Wednesday night. Its coming folks…its coming. While the only thing to fear is fear itself, I will caution you to be careful not to get out over your skis. As we discussed in our Friday morning Bible study, we always need to discern the difference between acting on our spirit, or any other spirit, and acting by the Holy Spirit. You know when you know. If in doubt don’t. Draw James 4:8 near. Stay in the word. He has given us ALL we need against the schemes, the spiritual forces, and the flaming arrows of the wicked one.
